A New Chapter on My Wrist: Pivoting from Fitbit to Amazfit
For years, my wearable development was defined by a single project: Fitbit Overview. What started as an effort to build a clean, stat-dense, highly customisable watch face evolved into years of updates across Ionic, Versa, and Sense devices.
However, the smartwatch landscape has changed dramatically. Between evolving SDK priorities and the sunsetting of classic Fitbit OS development, it became clear that Fitbit Overview had reached the end of the road on that platform.
Rather than hanging up my developer hat, I decided to find a new canvas. Today, I’m excited to announce my pivot to Amazfit and Zepp OS!
Why Amazfit & Zepp OS?
When looking for where to take my watch face designs next, Amazfit stood out as the natural choice:
- Hardware Variety: From lightweight everyday fitness trackers to premium flagships, the lineup offers vibrant displays and standout battery life.
- Modern Developer Tools: Zepp OS provides a clean, modern framework that makes building stat-rich, highly responsive watch faces exciting again.
- Thriving Community: An active ecosystem of wearable enthusiasts and creators that echoes the golden era of third-party wearable development.
Explore the New Watch Face Hub
To showcase what I’ve been working on, I’ve launched a brand-new hub:

Instead of just one design, I’m expanding across multiple Amazfit form factors and model lines:
- Bip Series: Bip 5, Bip 6, and Bip Max
- Active Series: Active 2 and Active Max
- Balance Series: Balance 3
You can browse previews, check layout specs, and find direct identifiers for your specific device.
How to Install
The recommended way to install these faces is through the official Zepp Watchface Store:
- Open the Zepp app on your phone.
- Head to the Watch Face store section.
- Search using the specific face ID number listed on the site.
Note: All watch faces will eventually appear in the official Zepp store as they complete Zepp’s review and approval process.
Early Access & Sideloading
If you’re eager to try a face before it clears official Zepp approval, files are also published to AmazfitWatchFaces.com.
While my site’s Help page doesn’t host an in-depth sideloading walkthrough, the community has excellent guides available—such as this AmazfitWatchFaces sideloading guide. However, for seamless one-tap installs and future updates, the official Zepp store remains the recommended route once approved.
What’s Ahead
Rebuilding from scratch after years focused entirely on Fitbit Overview has been a breath of fresh air. I’m taking the core principles that made Overview popular—rich glanceable stats, crisp layouts, and deep customisation—and applying them across a brand-new generation of hardware.
